New Stuff

New stuff is fun stuff!

I got a new computer... (after 8 years I think it's time) and of all things, it's pink... flamingo freakin' pink! It has a port for my camera to load my photos and they load at lightning speed. So fast I can't keep up!

It's pretty much my birfday gift, which is coming up in 2 weeks and it's my 30th (yipe!) so Chris wanted to get me something special... he's such a sweetheart...

We also newly just got DSL hooked up in the house, so no more of this slow dial up stuff (or slow computer). I can surf the knitting web at ridiculous speed (we could have paid more for ludicrous speed but we didn't want to go too nuts) and I can finally, finally listen to podcasts!

I was getting incredibly jealous of all you other knitters out there talking about the newest podcast and especially podcasts featuring my favorite, Yarn Harlot. I had won an iPod Shuffle (old style) a few years ago at my former work, but since we had dial up, the iTunes Store was completely out of the question, not to mention a podcast takes upwards of 6 hours to download when on dial up, sometimes longer. My old computer was also too old and slow to handle adding an iPod so I had to use Chris' computer in order to just add my own regular CD's to the play list. Talk about a freakin' headache!

So I been surfing the net from all over the house (WiFi... you rule... whoever thought one could poop and surf at the same time is a freaking genius!)

And... drum roll please... I got a new job!! Yay! No start date on the job yet, but I'll keep y'all up to date... I have to pass the drug test first, which of course I will because I'm all nerdy pure like that (well we won't count my past...) once I hear back from them they'll give me my official start date.

Also, unfortunately I have no new knitting at the moment since I been busy dealing with a bunch of other stuff, like getting a job and since I'm out of work, we're working on getting stuff done around the house that we couldn't before. I'm still working on the cat bed and the Fruit Loops socks and the ::ahem:: Tilted Duster... all of which are coming along slowly.

I'm so happy things are looking up at the moment and as soon as I get that first paycheck, knitting store beware... I'll actually be working just down the street from Unwind so this could be a bad thing... for me, not them

Congrats on your new job!! That is so exciting!!! Plus, now you will be able to quit the yarn diet and fall off the yarn wagon really hard, or maybe even crash off of it!
