I'm Going to Disneyland!

Again...

Chris and I had decided to take some time off work so while we're off, we're heading back to the happiest place on earth since we didn't get to make the regular birthday trip this April.

Smush's surgery is tomorrow. I had wanted to go back, so I requested days off at work, but since I wanted to stay out of the way and canceled the trip, I kept the days off... I'm going to make this the perfect opportunity to shop like crazy for her at Disneyland. Ok I won't go too nuts, maybe something Tinkerbell, a little Pirates of the Carribean something and a cute something from Toon Town (that's my favorite part of the park and yet it's just not big enough). Oh and I can't forget to get her something in the Magic Kingdom either...

Aww hell I'll just get her something from each section of the park! (My brother and sister-in-law will think I'm nuts).

On the knitting side. I haven't done much knitting, I've been finishing up a crochet blanket I'm making for a girl at work. Its not so much I have to finish it as much as I have to weave in all those little ends... ugh... It's 88 motifs all crochet together then a super easy and quick border, but 88 motifs worth of weaving in! I keep suppressing that number just long enough to weave in about 6 of them then I give up and start looking at other things...

I also have fallen deeply madly and utterly in love with the Rona Lace Shawl from KnitPicks. Normally I look at lace and go "Oh that's so gorgeous I want it!" Then I come down from cloud 9 and say "It's lace stupid, you'll have a shawl at the end but no hair on your head..." Does bald go well with lace?

Even my aunt who is the knitter/crocheter/quilter/seamstress extraordinaire isn't crazy enough to try lace. Her excuse is that she doesn't like reading the chart-type patterns, which I agree with her on. It's not hard, but it's tedious.

I've also got many projects planned for Smush and with every stinkin' email from the many knitting publications I subscribe to, I just find something new for everyone. Recently in an email from Knitting Daily they featured a jacket by Annie Modissette (sorry if I spelled that incorrectly). I'll have to go back and find the name, but it would be perfect for my friend at work...

It's so rough being a knitter sometimes... LOL!
