My Kind of Town

Chicago is...

Ok just got back from our trip yesterday and as always, have a cold. I don't know why but for some reason I get a really bad cold when I fly.

I am also now officially a Godmother and the family has finally met my man. They say they like him to my face, but behind my back, I'm not sure (they're like that). Either way, we had so much fun and I miss this little darling something awful already.

It was soooo hard to tell her goodbye. She is the happiest baby and so adorable and so wonderful. We even started a band together

She's on drums (her dad/my brother plays drums) and I'm lead vocals, but only because I can talk.

And here's a few photos from the baptism.

That's mommy, me, Allie, Frank- the Godfather who was spewing Godfather quotes all day, and daddy.

This is Allie and grandma

It was a fun day, heck, a fun weekend. The weather was kinda weird the whole time but compared to our 98 degrees when we got home, I'd rather be back in Chicago. So what if I was shivering when I left?!

I did some knitting on the plane ride to Chicago, the way home was spent mostly asleep since our flight out was at 6am. Also we had a layover in Denver so the on and off, on and off of the planes would just confuse me hehe...

I worked on the Froot Loop socks (yeah I'm still working on sock #2, ugh!) and just before we left I started working on Saartje's Booties with some leftover yarn from my Monkey Socks. They're a quick knit but the needles I am using are really long size 3's and wood so I was too afraid of breaking them with all the pushing and shoving of bags, so I just left the project here and will mail them to the munchkin later. Also since they're so fast to knit up I'm just going to use my yarn scraps to make a few more pairs.

I've next gotta get her little sweater done (the Nordic Cardigan that's going to be too big for her) and I've made a pact with myself, to work only on the projects I've currently got going, but that doesn't mean I can't buy new yarn and/or projects. I just can't start them (yeah, like that's going to work!). Just want to get some stuff out of the way at the moment and then I can start on other stuff, the wait will make it more worth it. I think.

Looks like Chicago turned out to be successful!

For fun you should suggest a trip back to spend the holidays with the fam and see what happens! hahah!
